I found Odor of Trespassing and used it. Surprisingly there was also a Track Stolen Object option. How is it possible? (I thought that you leave a theft scent when you steal something.)

So it seems Arcanist solved your riddle and i think he's also right that only leaving claim with lifted item leaves a theft scent.

Yes, Arcanist is right. Lifting an item on a claim leaves a trespass scent with track stolen object. All thefts can track stolen objects. Opening containers dont give you option to track the object opened.
