UA or Hybrid ?

I'm not into pvp thing and i hate using MM skill to hunt.
I have around 160 UA and no MC or MM.
( Around 140 str with the gears )
I'm not sure about going full UA or xUA + 1/2.x MC.
I can kill deers while stacking ip with Thunder and then getting in touch.
What do you guys suggest for being able to kill bears in a 1v1 manly ( no stacking ip ) fight ?

Since it's rather easy to obtain either 400+ strength, or a weapon that does 800+ damage at this point in the game, the decision should be based entirely on your ability to damage the animal's defense bar.
If you go hybrid, the melee won't really help with damaging defense bars until you get it as high/higher than your UA, unless you want to stack IP for Valdstrikes etc.
That said, you wouldn't need much MC to finish a bear off, after finishing off his defense bar with UA attacks.

If you can pick between 250 UA and 250 melee to fight a bear, always go 250 UA because the oak stance and bloodlust will help u a lot, also keep at least 100 melee for finishing bears off with a b12. Sword will most likely piss him off and then you gotta run fast.
