My character WONT FISH. How?

I have a fishing rod in my hand. String on it, hook on that. Earthworm on the hook. Standing in front of a fishing node. Tried in the water, on the shore. Up and down the river. I press fish, then right click the fish node. The hook cursor vanishes, nothing at all happens. I've tried to search for this bug and nothing is coming up.

I am new, but everything i've read says "click the water". It's not saying "need a fully equipped fishing pole". It seems like the line should be cast out even if there aren't fish, the character won't do a damn thing.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure this is some sort of bug. I noticed I couldn't leave the party I was in, or log out. I closed the client, and re-opened it. My character fished at one spot. I'm now the proud owner of my first fish. Still will not seem to cast the line any where else.

I press fish, then right click the fish node.

There's your problem. You're supposed to left-click, not right-click. Right-clicking cancels the cursor.

Yeah...so it seems. I have been left clicking. I was tired and frustrated last night, I mistakenly put right click.

I haven't tried again yet.
