Bear Butchering

I have a quick question- I'm using a q160 tool and 300 survival. Why is the bear only q180? Thanks.

Tool accounts for a bit of it. The bear may have been caught in an overly civilized area that lowered its base quality.

what? bear max q is 200. (160+200)/2=180. what is wrong with you getting q180 when your tool is at q160?

Skinning/butchering i´s first softcapped by survival. In your case you had enough survival not to softcap it, but your tool is not q200 so it was sofcapped by your tool. (160+200)/2=180 like Tonkyhonk said.

Maybe they used the forge prayer for super quality metal. Xcom described its potential for abuse.
