If you put your hearthfire inside a log cabin and surround it with objects so that no one can spawn next to it, is it then safe to give your hearth secret out casually to kin people. Basically I want to know if people can spawn at my hearthfire regardless of there being no space by using some kind of glitch or game mechanics I'm overlooking. (the log cabin is inside a bw).

That is not correct. In small houses like cabins no. If in a timber house or larger and there is sufficient room, yes they can.

They only can if there is enough room. The best way to test this is place your HF and go the character creation and try to spawn a new character with your HS.

Umm yes it is correct.
you can't spawn at a hearth fire by hearth secret if it's inside or in a cave.
you can however inherit your ancestor at their old hearth fire if the pile of sticks is still intact regardless of where it is.

If your hearth is inside it's safe to give out your hearth secret. to be honest with the update to summoning it's pretty safe to give it out anyway.

I most certainly have spawned characters inside houses this world using another characters HS. So I know your are not correct.

LadyV, you're wrong. You cannot spawn at a hearth fire that isn't outside.

I can not seem to replicate this now after having tried. But early world I did spawn off another's HS inside a house. So either it was a glitch or this has changed between now and then.
