How Do You See Animal Attack Ranges?

Is there a way to see how far you have to stay away from boars and bears to avoid getting attacked?

If you use a custom client, 2x the circle radius should be ok, but to be super safe you should just stay out of render distance.

that isnt actually correct, i got aggroed by a boar unexpectedly when i was walking outside the range a few days ago.
bears do seem to have a bigger radius, but seems like boars do aggro you from outside the radius too nowadays.

Animals aggro you from the same range as the maximum Call Down the Thunder distance, its about 30 tiles. Its also the same range you will lose aggro to any target if your outside it. Its also important to note that animals cant spot you behind obstacle of any type ex. trees, houses, water (even shallow) and signposts (hitbox of signpost).

Custom clients could have that huge circle around animals to show exact radius. The reason they don't have it is because of the annoyance having such a massive circle each time you spotted an animal. Just keep a note that its about a bit shorter then the maximum view distance. The frequency of how often they aggro is completely random but generally if you move behind objects with hitboxes you should be fine.

Just to make it absolutely clear, if you can't fight an animal then do not rely on the ender's highlight. It isn't an aggro radius display it's just to help you see the animal.

The aggro radius isn't fixed. Sometimes you can walk right up to them and they won't attack, other times they will aggro from a whole screen away. Don't risk it if you can't fight it.
