Treeplanting

What skills effect the quality of the planted tree?
Nature belief slider effects success chance, right?

Does the potting of the seed or the actual planting count for quality?

Water, herbalist table, pot, and seed all effect the Quality. No skill effects the tree directly, but skills will help make better herbalist tables and pots.

The nature belief slider does effect success chance.

I still don't see what the justification for table quality effecting this is. I mean think about it, even if it's a rough-hewn piece of rotting wood wedged between two bundles of twine, the pot's still just SITTING there. Even if it's an Abramesque masterpiece, the tree's still JUST SITTING THERE.
Surprise.

 • Herb table
 • planting pot
 • water
 • soil
 • seed
effect tree quality.
Hi Q soil and medium Q water are easily reachable on the main grid by boat.

You don't need any skill for constructing tables or pots directly. But carpentry effects the quality of blocks and boards and farming obviously effects the quality of the plant fibres.
If you have all the ingredients, you don't need any skill to plant trees.

Ok this is rediculous. I've now heard from multiple people that as long as you have the high Q items you don't need any skill to plant trees. I've also heard from multiple people that farming effects the Q of the planted tree. Could someone who's actually had some experience with this in the recent past confirm/deny?

Otherwise I guess I'll save up 200k lp and level farming a bunch in between planting two trees?

Side note: do trees give lower Q branches/apples/bark ect at earlier stages in their growth cycle?

Most definitely yes. I'm not sure at what rate the QL increases to base. However, it peaks at second to last growth stage and does not increase any further from there.

Oh yeah, other side note: If there's two trees that are planted too close together, so that they wont grow to their full size, If you cut one down will the other continue to grow? Or was it permanently stunted? (i'm hoping and assuming it's the latter)

Truth. Only the Q of the items matters. A person with 1 in every skill will get the same tree as a person with 10k in each skill. Skill only comes into play for the creation of the table (carpentry for the boards/blocks, and farming for the plant fibers) and DEX for pottery.

Once a tree is blocked from going to the next growth stage, it will never grow again.
