Just to add, try to prioritize what you study. Sort LP/Hour/Size at the curiosity table - http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Curiosity

If you're a new player i'd advise using wine. It takes a while to ferment, but it's easy to create and gives a temporary 10 attention boost.
