Villages and banners/statues

Postby Fosfor » Tue Jul 01, 2014 6:35 am

I am not sure about how villages exactly work. Let say we have got two examples - 1) and 2) (see image bellow).
1a) Two villages are close together.
1b) Someone ( ) breaks few banners and disconects rest of the banners of village X.
1c) Is it possible to connect these abandoned banners to village Y or are they still behaving as a part of village X (you can not destroy them without battering ram, you can build crossroads etc.)?

2a) There is a village X
2b) You accidentally lost your village idol (someone bashed it, not enough of authority because a long inactivity...)
2c) Could you reconnect your banners back if you built a new village (let say with the same person on his personal claim etc.)?

1> no you can never connect another authority area into your village auth.
2>No, see answer 1.

From my limited experience with village idols and banners I believe that once a banner is constructed it will always be tied to the village its was originally constructed for. Even if it becomes disconnected from the rest of the villages banners it still behaves as your village banner and property. There is no mechanic in the game allowing you to connect a banner from a former village to yours. I have been wrong before.

In a situation falling under 2c I believe the game will consider the existing banners as foreign and there will be a conflict.

And what about reconnecting your previously disconnected banners? (connecting disconnected banners in vilage X (1b) to make initial state of village X (1a))

Yes, you can build banners on your own vclaim, leading into your own vclaim.
Though there is no need to connect banners
V = idol, B = banner C = crossroad

V _______ B B B B B B B B C

If you have that, but you want banners destroyed, but to keep the crossroad, let's say the auth drain was too high to upkeep
You can destroy all banners except the one by the crossroad

V ___________________________ B C

The crossroad and banner next to it remains indestructable by hand, provided your authority stays above 25k
Do note that when your banners get destroyed, the village will suffer an authority hit, which may knock it down below 25k
