Ender's client wont let my friend play.

My friend can play with the normal default client, (she can't download it for some reason but she can play it) and make a character and walk around.

However, I explained that she should really get Ender's client. So, she tried setting it up herself, and logged in and couldn't click "New Character." What would happen is, she would click it, and it would appear that the button gets stuck in. And she clicked it a hundred more times and nothing happened.

So, I uploaded my version of the client that I know works, got her to download it, she opened it up, same thing.

Next we decided that she should make a character on the default play, and then try logging into that character on the Ender's client. Didn't work. Interestingly enough though I could see her character standing on top of her hearth fire un-moving during this process. Sometimes her client's screen would even go black when attempting this.

So I've scoured the forums and I haven't found a similar issue, or I'm just terrible at looking. Decided I'd make this thread. Anyone have any ideas? She's 64 bit with the latest drivers and java. Windows 7.

more info needed. im not the person who could give you the pinpoint solution, but i know this isnt enough to get help.
for example, which video card, which version of java, and if you picked certain version of ender, which verions and so on.
what has she done trying to solve the issue so far, like clearing cache, re-downloading latest java, etc.

have her ad the line PAUSE at the end of the run.bat. what error do yo see when she tries to open it up?

Latest version of Java, and she tried it with the latest version of Ender's client from the thread, but came up with the same issue so I just gave her mine which is (modified by Ender v06.04.12) and it works fine for me, but same problem with her.

I could give you the dxdiag but it is huge, so, unless you know what to do with the information I'll PM it to you.

@Bramson We got her to add it but no error popped up. She gets onto the character selection screen, and cannot click "New Character", or "Where you logged out" / "Your Hearth Fire". They do apparently work however since I can see her in-game, but on her client she gets a black screen or nothing happens.

She's going to try redownloading the latest version of java now. All we've tried is basically different versions of Ender.

also, another had a crashing issue at the start up as well with intel.
there also is a possibility of her router being the issue.

anyways, if she hasnt, tell her to clear java cache first. changing enders version doesnt make differences, btw.

you mean, you/she created a new run.bat file for the latest ender?

This may be obvious but I didn't realize it when I made BAT file for anemone client, you need to have the BAT file in the folder you have the client (I tried editing batfiles through shortcuts on my desktop that were in old client folders)

Current version of enders that I have is downloaded by updater.jar which can be used to laucnh client (I did this far too long) but it takes quite long time since it essentailly checks your entire client every time you open it. It is preferred to make BAT file.

Here's everything about her graphics / video stuff, I think. And by having her add it I mean she edited the run.bat to have the line PAUSE at the end of everything. It didn't affect a thing. If this is the issue I find that very interesting, 'cause she can play with the default Haven and Hearth client (she can't seem to download it but she can play it from there.) But I think we all know she desperately needs the custom client.

Sorry for double posting, but this is as far as we've gotten so far. She can't move in-game, and the ground is black. Keep in mind this is solely with the Ender's client.

which means either she or you created her original run.bat file cause latest ender doesnt have run.bat file... is what vatas was saying. you both must be using the very last version before ender removed run.bat file from his client.

If this is the issue I find that very interesting, 'cause she can play with the default Haven and Hearth client

because default supports pretty old specs. dunno about ender, but i know it is much harder to play on ender(or just available custom clients) with old pc especially memory-wise, though i could play with ender even on my previous intel toaster without updating drivers. so it is possible that ender on her pc is corrupt.
im never an expert, but id suspect that some files or whatever are corrupt or the current graphics driver on her pc not working well because her pc shouldnt be too old considering its using 64 bit.

what is the manufacturer of her laptop(dell, hp, and such)? does she have another graphics card (like amd, radeon, nvidia) or intel only? where did she update her driver from and which version is it(check the version number and what it supports, especially opengl)? has she actually visited both the manufacturer's site and intel site for the update? has she updated windows from microsoft too? does she have the latest system bios from the manufacturer? does her browser actually use 64 bit java? (sometimes your browser installs 32 bit java by default and you try to run 64 bit ender on it.)

im only stating what basic info you need to give for troubleshooting so that someone else who knows well but lazy may be able to help you with it.
