Increase my stamina...?

Is there a way to increase my speed and stamina so I can try to keep up with animals that run away from me? I know I can restore it by drinking water, but I'd like to know what to do so that they don't disappear on me while I am lurching after them.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: get more CON to increase your stamina, but not a whole lot. Just get used to animals fleeing.

@OP - Typically fleeing animals will bug out and stop fleeing. You just have to chase them far enough. It's PitA. If you click on the the fleeing animal's charecter icon you will begin to walk toward it. This will help you track your fleeing animal when you lose sight of him.

yep, he is right. My main has over 100 Con, and he loses the same amount of stamina from plowing by hand as a Con 10 alt does.

yeah the thing is that swimming takes less stamina when you have more con. you don't actually have more stamina.

Or just don't chase him. Wait until he exits combat with you(because he will stop), then walk after him. He won't flee a second time.
