How do I catch brill? or sturgeon?

Well I use to have a method of getting brill that stopped working. Must be the change of month or god knows what. Any of you fishers out there can share what type of hook and lure you are using? Quality matters in some situations... I would be eternally grateful if you could help.

It seems like location on the river or lake matters a lot.

Try going back to the same spot.... or trying somewhere else near to it.

I only fish on the same spot to minimize that variable no go something else happened. Used to work day and night now it doesn't work at all.

Try these:
- feather fly: dawn and morning
- pinecone plug: morning, noon, early night and midnight
- tin fly: dusk and early night
- silkworm: dusk

A while ago I saw wooden fish give 9 roach 1 brill. Was night.

The problem is hooks actually matter. Pineplug in morning gives me roach with metal hook and perch with bone hook... And yeah woodfish was the way to go for brill but you had to vary quality, you got roach for higher q and brill for lower both with metal hooks.

high q rod and bone hook gives me perch for q 12 woodfish, salmon for q 35 woodfish and roach for q 110 woodfish. Isn't fishing marvelous?
