Leeches

I've been told, and read, that putting leeches on yourself heals you HHP. Well I have some stored quality 13 leeches in my cupboard, and when I put them in my armor slot the deal SHP damage but dont heal my HHP. This frustrates me because my HHP is below 75% of my MHP. Anyone willing to tell me how this works?

Every time a leech draws blood from you they deal SHP damage and have a chance to heal HHP. A completely hungry leech can tick 3 times before it is full.

It's roughly 1 HHP per 3 SHP lost, but it's not exactly that. Healing HHP takes time so you shouldn't fret over individual increases in it, it will take a few sessions. If you can get some wool or gauze using a bandage will help as well.
