ok didn't get it from your description

depending on your PER*Expl it might be far ahead i guess (had it in W5 on lvl 2):

if i'd be in that situation i'd prolly build a minehole in that direction a level up to check from the other side just to be sure (but i'm not and not that desperate - on the other side i mostly find veins by accident)

If it's another client than Enders you might ask in the appropriate thread if there's a known bug - for actual Enders i don't know of such a bug

Alright Ill cover this again. Someone should place this in the wiki.

Rustroot extract is a moody tool It always works even if it tells you no minerals found or gives you confusing directions. You may have to use it several times in the same spot but it almost always gives you a lead. My suggestion if by the fourth try it still says nothing move on.

When you prospect you are searching the area below. This makes things difficult when it comes to arrows pointing. You can have more than one node in a nearby area they may meet or intersect and node can be large or curve. All of these things confuse your arrows.

When nodes are to close or intersect you will only get arrows. It will not tell you what metal is there because it does not know which one to list because more than one are detected. Ive encountered this many times. It means get your minehole down there and go see.

Don't expect miracles or absolute success with rustroot extract. Simply realize its a moody detector and nothing more.

Ender client actually had a few east bound dowsing scans getting all haywire relating to server bugs. But I doubt its related to the one found here. This one seams to point north west and most likely related to the randomness of the dowsing.

I can also confirm that the wiki states that direction on ender is accurate while its very inaccurate and makes no sense. The degrees on the small popup on the ender client shows some strange numbers.

All I mean by it is that ender client can actually show wrong dowsing directions when its pointing east and the numbers in that small popup can't be used at all.
