Need some help taming

Postby Bompir » Thu Nov 13, 2014 1:48 am

So i tried taming a mouflon and an auroch, everytime i get to 20 ponits in tameness i know i must wait for the animal to attack me, but the 2 times i tried, i waited like 25+ min for them to attack but nothing happened... Is this a bug or it is supposed to be like that? :(

Sometimes it just happens. It seems to happen more often if you deal any damage to the animal before or during the taming process. Just kill the animal or let it despawn and try again.

sometimes it is most likely faster to break the tamed mode (not aggressive after taming procedure) once by walking far enough away from the animal youre taming. ever tried that?
but, not to nullify the taming points when walking away:
  • do not cross a claim border - if you are taming on a claimed land, dont leave that area, if you are taming on an unclaimed land, dont enter any claimed areas.
  • do not swim, dont get on a boat/raft
  • do not teleport
  • do not enter a house or a cave
any of the above may not influence, but many of us believe that the taming points get nullified by those actions (and directly attacking the animal youre taming as you read). fyi, it once made me wait for 30 mins for the second taming attempt.

it would be much easier to tame one from a herd so that you could use others from the herd to get the whole herd aggressive instead of waiting for natural aggro.

You mention trying to tame animals that are normally in packs. Every time I have tried that if they are too close and all of them agro they will not break tame to attack again as the others seem to screw it up. If you boxed them in and pulled one away (or left it too close) try getting one far enough away the others cant agro. Only tip I can give.
