Corpse decay

Question: How long before say a bear skin would disappear from a newly killed bear if i were to store the bear somewhere in say a boat for future trading? new player here so cant really afford to throw away such valuables for the glory of science

its known to be 8 hours for the first decay into bones and another 8 for the second to nothing, but the question is when to start counting 8 hours - i dont think anyone knows this for sure, and i assume its related to the server time. (at least the counting does not start at the moment you killed one, afaik) so, be prepared in case it doesnt last for full 8 hours with your timer.
