plz help a poor soul

so i have been trying to get back into haven and hearth for some time and everytime i try to play a download comes up as (autohaven) and it will not let me play the game i then download this file and then it asks i open it in a specail way (mind you i am using a windows 8 laptop so everything is screwy) and then the game refuses to open or even start up anyone know how to fix this issue? i would greatly appreceate it leave an awnser at this thread or hit me up at my email at kennymisercola@yahoo.com thank you kindly

You'll need to download java to play the game.

The client is java based.

vatas please stop suggesting custom clients to starters that have to learn the basics first to run default client first - kiittää teitä

for default client you need to check the browser box at top (in image too)

click Play Button - choose "Open with Java Web Start Launcher" from dropdown menue

(alternative way would be to perform a search for javaws.exe on your Windows 8 to get the path and use it to open autohaven.jnlp)
