What is the best way to get Iron when all mines are closed.

I have question, like in topic, how players can get iron ignots? If I find some mine and try enter, Game prints "there is no exit[...]". I read that prospecting is bugged. Please for reply, I need Iron:D

Prospecting has always been less than totally reliable. Yet everyone else used it to find iron. So can you.

Remember: Don't build your mine on the vein because it will delete the ore it lands on. It's better to build beside a vein then dig to it and map it out.

If you have no access to any mine, anywhere, the one and only way to get iron (other than from other players) is the Forge Prayer from the Ancestor Worship Ability, which costs 10 numen points, and only gives one base metal nugget at random each time it's used. The sacrifices could get very expensive, so mining and looting is probably more effective, even if mines are hard to find and looting is dangerous.

The Forge Prayer isn't even close to necessary. You'll start finding enough rustroot to make extract and prospect out iron before you'll get anywhere with ancestral worship. Where the Forge Prayer does come in handy is getting high quality metal, higher quality than might even be produced by anyone's mine in the game. It's an advance skill and strategy, though, so don't worry about it until you have so much stuff you can afford to throw a lot of things away for this. (You'll also need to build up a smith high enough and then kill him off for this to be effective, not to mention rebuild another smith to actually use the metal effectively.)

the message is related to mineholes - it tells you you that the entrance is blocked (signs around it on surface) nothing to explore further - just a waste of time- and it got nothing to do with prospecting being bugged

i suggest you're looking for an unclaimed cave and do some test digs at different spots - you might get lucky mining out one tile to get enough ore to smelt one bar which gives you 10 nuggets - enough for a few mining supports to go on - just be patient and don't hurry
