Using leeches affectivly

Postby dongodson081294 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 8:01 pm

How do I use leeches, so I would regain hard hit points instead keep loosing soft hit points?
Since I hardly regain any hard hit points. I do regain once in a while but, I am asking for those who know since I have no access to gauze.
Do I use one at a time or equip as many to my empty slots or do I have to place them in right slot to start regain hard hit points. Since ring of brodgar doesn't explain it that far, its more like "oh if you want to regain hard hit points walk through the fucking swamp and done" I am like and?
Help me please in fullest detail.

Take off all of your equipment, run around in a swamp until every single slot has a leech in it, remove leeches as they become bloated. If your soft HP gets uncomfortably low, take off all leeches and let it regen a bit. You'll need a lot of food too, as regenerating soft hp costs a lot of hunger. If you're really low on hard HP, it will take an enormous amount of time since the amount of leeches you can survive is limited.

so its basically as many as you want in any empty slot?
Also when leeches return to their original state, how often you can use them and do they die after certain amount of time or times used?

They never die. One thing to note is that if you have high constitution, the leeches will gradually increase in quality toward your constitution value. They will deal more damage to your soft HP at higher quality, without healing you any more often.

And yes, just keep unbloated leeches on every equip slot until your shp is low, then wait for it to regen and go at it again.

Effectively*

every time a leech does soft hp damage it has a chance to heal hard hp, so higher quality will both do more soft hp and heal more hard.

bloated ones will return to normal after a day or so of being in a container.
what I find works best is to walk through a swamp and take them off as they are attached, when you have an investory and body full, then go back to your base and start healing. it will take a while, so as you play normally keep applying leeches, keep an eye on your soft hp and don't let it get to zero. as the leeches become bloated take them off and apply another.
you will also need to keep your hunger bar in the yellow or green otherwise you will find you won't heal soft hp back.

Keep the leeches and put them in a cupboard to use next time. higher quality will heal you faster.

Also if your soft hp reaches zero then you will be ko, and you will take hard hp dammage from the leeches, which can kill you.

pretty sure that is just the opposite. They are more likely to heal HHP based on quality. It only takes a couple of higher Q leeches to heal several HHP versus a body covered in q10 leeches. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Leech
