how do you remove/move inactive hearth fires? i found a really nice spot i wanted yet its got a few hearth fires, yet no one seems to pop out of em, is there somthing inplace to prevent inactive/people who join then quit yet leave thier fires/ all the clutter from these things? its really annoying

You can smash the fires once you get a claim down

i've often thought the hearthfire soak value should be dropped a bit. i think you need 25 strength + stone axe to destroy them

Not too hard to get 25 str and have a stone axe. I'll grant it's not something you'll get in your first week if you're just trying to figure out the game and only play 10ish hours a week. Fish, pumpkins, boar and bear meat, ants... STR is one of the easier stats to raise early game.

There's no reason there isn't a reduction in soak for the claim owner (hf spam) or fire owner (though you can build the hf in another location and then just burn off the old one). It's just not something I expect jorbtar to do any time soon.

I'm guessing the soak value is not lowered for claim owners because it would allow easier claim and destroy options, most especially in early world. If you could lower soak by claiming then destroying your rivals hearthfire and then unclaiming a the pclaim it undermines the hearthfire. It wont stop a determined person but beginners should have chance against others of similar abilities.
