Carpentry and palisade walls

I was wondering if there is a connection between the skill of one's carpentry attributes and the mitigation of palisade wall decay...?

No.

Anything built under the 'construction' window is completely skill independent. In the case of palisades, Q doesn't matter. In the case of kilns, Q matters but is determined solely by the clay used to make it.

Make two cornerposts with a 2x1 gap between them.
