Curiosities. If you're new, grind cone cows, emerald dragonflies, ladybugs, etc.

How would I find all those things? I am new to this game, also are there any other methods?
I have heard from searching you can make buckets and get money.

Cone Cows are craftable with branches and fir cones. Dragonflies are found flying around in swamp. Ladybugs are sometimes found flying around in forest land.

Making buckets (and doing most actions, like digging or building) used to give learning points, but they don't anymore. Now you must study curiosities instead to gain learning points (as well as discovering new items, but that's only good for the first several minutes of playing).

I highly recommend you read this guide to help get you started: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19114

To see basic forageables like spindly taproot, which is used as string. There are also a lot of forageable curiosities that you'll want to work toward being able to see later on.

Well what i basically did when i started my character
I used Cone Cows
Then i used a combo of Cone cows and Chicken Wish Bones from chickens
Then i maxed out my Peacefull and Change, Personal Traits of my character which then gave me a 360% boost to all my research
which means i get 2597LP for each QL3 chicken bone, AND 1800LP for each QL10 poppies
When you get farming ready id highly suggest growing a little bit of poppies for curiosities
Also fishing for Perch and eating it gives you INT values which allows you to research more at once

This should be the very first thing you start doing. Push Peaceful until maxed for the LP bonus. You have to be logged in to get the timer to go down, and changing anything changes the Tradition/Change to Change by a position, too. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Personal_Beliefs

Sevenless's guide is pretty much spot on with what you should be getting in your first couple of hours playing. After you can settle down a bit and make a home, the game options of what to do start opening up and it quits being that whole walking grind.

I'm not sure if the guide got updated to mention the "survival cap" change or not, but if it hasn't, anything you forage will be capped by your survival, so once you get Exploration up a few points, you'll want to work on getting survival to 10 just to bring things to a "normal" value. Pushing up more than that afterwards will be up to you and how you earn LP, what you want to do in the game, etc, but you will want to push it more just so you can get the best returns from foraging.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
