How does livestock quality work?

Postby Smoopadoop » Fri Jan 23, 2015 3:49 am

Is it raised by food, or is it raised by selectively hand-breeding the best cow dicks around to make superbabies for 420 pearls a pop?

It's done by selectively handbreeding and choosing the best livestock to mate each generation. Cull the weak and low quality. Cattle can only be at the same quality as the fodder that you're giving them or eventually their quality will drop to the quality of the food. This quality drop won't display but it will effect products produced by these animals. So there's no reason to feed them higher quality fodder than they are, but a huge incentive to not feed them food lower quality than they are.

All qualities of the babies are the average of the parents quality (-5 +20), softcapped by the breeding quality of the father.
