Making a board?!

Ok, ive got carpentry n such. ive cut down trees! but how do i turn it into boards?! :S
I´ve tried almost everything.

Make a saw out of a branch and a bone, use it on a log.

Thing is ive tried that tho :S leftclicking saw, rightclicking log. Nothing happends :S

equip the saw, and then right click on a log. You should have two options:

1- Make into blocks(12 blocks, requires axe equipped)
2- Make into boards(4 boards with bone saw, 6 boards with metal saw. Must have the saw equipped.)

A saw takes boths hands.

Thanks, figured out that my problem was i didnt cut down big enough trees. only got blocks of wood, not logs.
