Haven and Hearth freezes my system:(

Hello.
I am a fairly new player to H&H and i love pretty much everything so far.
My problem is running the game, pretty much everyday since i started playing H&H my system freezes. (I suspect Java is the culprit)

The freezes occur at random times during gameplay sometimes i can play for 5 hours and sometimes just for 40 minutes or so.
There is no problem with any other application or program on my computer, the freezes only happens when i have Java.exe running. (And i use the Goon client)
I have tried both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of Java, both freeze my system
I don't think it is hardware related because Java is the only thing fucking up.

So i was just wondering if anyone have some tips or tricks that could help me reach a solution to this annoying problem.
I would appreciate serious answers and suggestions I didn't post this to get heckled. (As in most forums this days )

What Goon client ?!?

Have you tried a different client (Ender) to check whether freezes appear with that too?

Also which Bit Java you're using depends on the clients Bit version - look at my signature

Even if it is something Java does, it's not Java's fault, because Java is a pure user-mode process and as such the OS should prevent it from crashing the system even if it actively tries to do so. It's either a kernel bug (unlikely) or driver bug (far more likely), or bad hardware.

Do note that the hardware can be bad even if only one program causes problems with it, because only one program might display such a usage pattern that triggers whatever is wrong with the hardware. The same thing can be said for driver bugs. As an anecdote, I actually had this problem with my previous laptop, where the GPU would lock up from the Haven client and only from the Haven client.

The first thing you should do is make sure your GPU drivers are up-to-date.

Thanks for the quick response.

When i got this game it was pretty much handed to me on a silver plate, my friend who was already playing H&H sent a client map folder to me over skype, GoonClient the folder said.
My friend also said that the client was called Goon. When i start it says: (Thunder 04.20.69 v8 - we pathfinder now) Don't know what that means or if that's the clients name.
I will check out the Enders client and i will read through the content in your signature. (Thank you borka)

I am curious how you relate any of those measures to the chance of faulty hardware. :)

Simple answer, i have many talents and interests and none of them lies in anything involving computers (except gaming of course).
The difference between GPU and CPU and so forth has been explained to me in the past but my complete lack of interest makes it hard for my brain to create new synapses to keep track of this information.
I usually have friends who fix all that stuff for me.
And if my lack of knowledge amused you then you are welcome:)

And by the way i fixed the freeze issue by switching from Goon to the Anemone client:)
