Critters Devolving

Postby Rhiannon » Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:58 pm

Was wondering why or if this is a natural function of something. But the critters in my area have devolved...when I first arrived with a couple friends in the area (the whole lake and surrounding areas) the critters range were levels 5 to 7. Here in the last few days all the critters are now ranging lvl 2 to 3. Some may would like this but I don't as this greatly reduces the quality of the bones, meat and intestines and so forth that I get from them.

Does anyone know by what mechanic this occurs? Or possible explanation? As the whole area's level seems to have dropped over the last week

Civilization rose in the area. Village totems, hearth fires, cabins and mansions increase civilization.

Look on the bright side: you'll have less decay now.

Umm, I thought it may have been something to that effect. I almost think I'd rather havew the decay and higher quality animals for the loot..lol

Well I'd have to think on it, the decay is quite annoying, but then again, the loot from the lvl 7 animals is pretty high over a lvl 2 and greatly helps the arrows, Rennet and leather. So it's certainly a 'give/take" thing. I do think in the end think I just may indeed choose the loot over the decay as the loot translate into alot more higer quality goods for the effort.

The only problem is that right now civilization doesn't really effect decay rates all that much. So your not really 'taking' anything. You're just 'giving.'

It would, but it's more probably a village idol, which currently cannot be torn down.

Ouch...naughty naughty then Devs...lol If I'm not getting a fair cut on the decay then Cain is right...if I've lost 4-5 levels on average from my native critters (with only 5 people in the whole decently large immediate area + my village idol) then I should get a good 4-5 level cut on my decay..lol I can say that so far Cain is correct, I haven't noticed any signifigant decrease in me having to repair my loom almost every day or some of the other more noticable decay items. But oh well, tis the nature of things.
