Strength to mine 4th level rocks

Anyone have an approximate strength it takes to mine rock walls in the 4th level? Assume I'm using a q170 pickaxe

It all depends how hard the rocks are, since they can be very hard or very soft, but with like 100+ str you should be able to mine slow, while with 350 or 400+ you'd mine full speed on normal hardness.

Ramo is quite correct. Only when you encounter hardness nodes will you have issues at lower strengths within his range. I've had need of close to 500 before on level 4 due to a hardness node. In general however you wont need that much. Just be at least 100 and test. Use the message guide in the wiki to get an idea how much more strength based on what message it gives.
