A lot of meat

Ok, this is probably a meganoob thread, mostly because I did something unimaginably stupid.
I've just slaughtered a hq ram which was loose somewhere. When I started butchering it I received so mcuh meat and intestines I can't even count because it overflowed my inventory. I'm estimating over 20 pieces of both. Is this a bug?

nope, high q animals can produce ridiculous amounts of meat
