What is EVERYTHING a village needs?

Postby Smoopadoop » Tue Jun 09, 2015 7:23 am

Or at least everything worth putting in one.
I have plan mapped out and this is what I have so far:
(it's in a 4x4 grid, and each entry says how many spaces they take, so that shows how much space I have for your suggestions)
Plaza, outside the walls, with trade stands and CRs (No crossroads in!!!!!!!)
Crafting area (contains ovens, crafting stations, etc) (1 cell)
Storage for everything (1 cell)
Silk factory (1 cell)
Metal production/storage (1 cell)
Meat/leather/sausage production/storage (1 cell)
Farm for essential things (2 cells)
Farm for surplus things (mainly extra hay for mansions) (2 cells)
Dairy and cheese factory (2 cells)
Meat + chicken farm (2 cells)
Tree farm (1 cell)
2 Empty cells! (They're just housing now)

Is there anything missing? Anything (((AT ALL)))??
(not including the mine, that's outside the village)

Thanks

First off you got everything covered that's in the game right now. Farming/Crafting/Mining and Hunting related stuff. So you're missing nothing as far as I can tell.

But why do you want a whole Cell just for the Silk production? One Timber House normally provides enough space for the whole production and Mulberry leaves are infinite(means 1 HQ Tree provides all the needed leaves).

The metallproduction chain could also be fitted inside the mine so you don't have to carry all the ore back to base (most of it will turn into stone anyway) but if you're having a hard time getting the needed mats for HQ production facilities you should build it in your village(like you're planing atm).

Furthermore I would advise you to put your main storage in the middle to assure that every raider has the longest and hardest possible way to reach your precious things.

Remember to keep enough space in your cheese factory cell for additional buildings → more cellars.
Grammar, much to learn I still have

you need a gold mine, they're a bit scarce this late into the world in fact theres probably only a couple of them left if any. without that you cannot craft a lot of the endgame content alone. if your goal is not to do everything alone, then just specialize in a couple of things and trade them for others

windmaker , as always, speaks the truth, you need more fellow hearthlings to do these jobs, its much to hard to do everything yourself, you burn out, you need to delegate, socialise, trade, team up for hunting or scavenging ruined villages building brickwalls , farming ect. unless ofcourse you can master bots.

to ensure trust, you might need to recruit from outside the current pool of players, so friends you have irl or online who hold no alliances to the big factions or personalities here , maybe get lucky with some hermits or newbies.

also set up a skype group chat with these players, so things can be communicated and you can talk
