Reek of Theft inside my Timber House in my Pali

Today I found a Reek of Theft in front of my Cupboards in my Timberhouse. The strange thing is, I have a full Palisade and no damage!
I mean, no one bashed it and raided me. I localized the scent inside a big village and I think I can`t harm hin, if I find him.
But how is this even possible?

Do you have minehole or cave entrance that can be used to get in?

No, I don`t have any.
I`ve read that the theft scent stays for about 2 days so i must have happened recently.
And I played constantly the last days. I can`t remember anything weird happened or that someone was inside my pali.
But I think he stole nothing from me, just the scents.
But there aren`t any other scents like trespassing or vandalism.
Just in my Timberhouse.
I don`t know how he entered my Claim.
I set up my Timberhouse after I finished my Pali.

A pali-basher can get in very quickly with the sats they have at this point in the game, he could have broken in and then repaired the wall on leaving. The scents may not be visible to you determined on your Perc*Exp.

He was probably just seeing what you had and then left you intact when you had nothing he considered worth stealing.

Chances are that they bashed in and repaired the walls afterwards. Locating scents inside of houses or immediately outside of houses is the easiest because you have a chance to spot them every time you reload the map. My guess is that other scents exist, you just don't have the perception * exploration necessary to see them consistently enough to notice them.

Do people really bash palis and when theres nothing of value, they just leave and repair the pali?

Sounds like it, but a palisade segment is only 3 blocks of wood
Do you by any chance live by a cliff? and if so, care to take a screenshot of your home? (hide the minimap)
I had some guy glitching through it once and getting past my walls, knocking me out

It can be valuable intel gathering. If you hit a player who has bluebells, pearls, gold, silver, or other valuables then you've paid off any trouble you've gone through by sneaking around the neighborhood. Better yet, if you do it all without getting caught then you made out like a bandit. =)

Lol, yeah logging on to a load of scents is not pleasant but at least you can now work towards better security. Find a cave, start mining for metals and get a brickwall on the go, also, if possible, wall around the cliff section, the cliff jumping bug is supposedly fixed but no-one seems to trust it and I guess new ways can be or have been found so, better to be safe than sorry.
