Bread and Baked goods

Postby dcastello79 » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:45 pm

I'm just curious about what all the factors are that determine the quality of bread and/or other baked goods (I know that the ingredients obviously go into it, but I was curious about the other factors). I know that even if I have lower quality seeds, the flour I produce becomes a higher quality, and the dough a higher quality than the flour, but the finished bread does not increase in quality...any reason for this? Thanks in advance.

Flour should be the average of seed quality, are you positive you're getting higher q flour?

Anyway, dough factors in water q and any other ingredients q if you're not making bread dough.

When you bake dough quality is altered according to your oven q and your fuel q. Get yourself some high quality bricks asap, it'll do wonders for your baked goods.

And of course, your skills can drag down the q if they're too low. It's farming for flour and cooking for dough. No skill is involved in baking the dough.

iam kinda a newbie to, but i made lotsa bread. first you get your wheat seeds, you put 2 seeds into the grinder and it averages their value, farming is the limiting skill on this i think as i grinded my brothers seeds once with 1 farming and i got absolute crap quality.

then you do the recipe for bread and the water quality comes into play. so i suggest you find a water source that is ok quality. i take 2 barrels in a boat to this spot i saw on maplib and fill them up. next you taken them to an oven.

once at the oven this formula goes into play

quality of baked goods = (2*qitem + qoven + qbranch)/4

so if u have q50 unbaked bread a quality 50 oven, and quality 10 fuel you would get q40 bread out of it. ovens are made from bricks from a kiln, kiln is made from clay. so first make a good kiln from clay. quality of kiln = clay, then you make bricks from the kiln. if you use the same quality clay as you made for the kiln then the brick quality will be the clay quality. then when you made the oven, the oven quality will be equal to the brick quality. nothing but the materials affect the oven and kiln quality.

If I repair my ovens with lower quality brick than I initially built the oven (or even a kiln, etc.) will that bring down the quality of said building?--with regards to the items it produces.

No, q is irrelevant for all repairs.
