What does this mean?

I just wanted to clarify as to what I think it means.

I went and checked my stand in town and all my cheeses was gone from the stand yet no collect button was available. I had on my ranger gear yet no tresspassing or theft scent was visable anywhere around my stand, and yes I had my tracking turned on.

So, I guess this means from what I've read elsewhere that a high level character with high stealth stole all my chesses/merchandise and likewise left no scent?

They left a scent, you just can't see it. It's based on your per/exp versus their ste/int. Also, there seems to possibly be a random factor involved. Teleporting or entering and exiting a building seem to give you a reroll.

I just wanted to be sure there was no other explanation as I didn't want to remove myself from the trading/vending part of the game without cause I had been trying to encourage that part of the game. I had my suspicions it would never really work in this game considering the desire to have "that element" in the game.

Yes I know permadeath and all that is suppose to be a deterent but that's just for noobs and fools, as all one needs is to get high enough stealth so it's never really gonna stop it as long as people wish that to be part of the game. oh well, another game fail...lol

Yes, FAIL. LOL, this game has a LOT of things that need to be done to balance shit out. especially in the area of combat and crimes.
