I've heard that it's for looting corpses, which is something that I WOULD like to be able to do. It's too bad that trespassing is a prereq, and I do NOT want to get that...

you can steal from unconcious people too, you dont actually have to murder them btw.

entering someones claim no longer hurts you, and actually learning trespass only means that you can interact with items on their claim. Which would be a very foolish mistake, since there are rangers now and they can find you, and kill you. Even if you log out.
