Seeing scents

What else other than tracking do you need to see scents. I've toggled it on but still don't see them.

Alternatively is there anyway someone could have trespassed and taken things without leaving scents on my claim?

You need to make an exploration*perception check against criminal's stealth*intelligence to see a scent. If you leave and come back (entering and leaving a cabin works best), you'll reroll the check, so if you do it enough times you'll see it eventually. Mind you, it can take a LOT (like, hundreds) of tries if it's someone with really good stealth and int.

Scents also decay now.

Trespassing scents dont last very long at all, so someone could have come onto your claim without you knowing easy enough. If they stole anything, there would be a theft scent. That lasts a few days IIRC.

Seems that anyone can walk on my claim without trespassing enabled too so I think it's actually a problem with the claim permissions rather than a lack of scents.

Nope personal claim. Might only be kin as I've not tested it with strangers but I have no authorisations on any colour right now as I only just rebuilt the claim. I'm sure it's more likely to be my fault which is why I've posted here and not made a bug for it.

Any other things I might have got wrong?
