How do I kill a wild sheep?

What's the minimum stats you would recommend for attacking a ram using archery?

Assume that I have labouriously penned all the critters up so they can't mob attack me, and that I want the meat and hides not to breed lambs.

I have 15 strength, 15 perception and 16 in marksmanship.... I started with 55 q10 arrows and emptied them into the damn ram twice, only once seeing it bleed, and only once briefly seeing the balance of power dip in my favour instead of staying level.

This is assuming the normal old combat system, not the new one that is being tested.

I can't tell you an exact number but I have 40 MM and can hit sheep every second hit.

with 35 marksman you should hit enough, keep trying and see what is enough for you
I don't think any other stats effect archery
first try to kill some foxes with at least 20 MM and upgrade your arrows with the bones, also if you can find a soil quality point you can forage a spindly taproot(string) with higher quality and make a better bow, these will increase your damage, MM increases your hit rate and your ability to make better bows
also a tip, use combat meditation because it makes you shoot faster and all the other side effects are null unless something is hitting you

These are some helpful tips; thank you. I've already upgraded my bow when I found a q61 tree just outside an abandoned mining town, so it is now q30. I am raising my MM as fast as I can kill ants.... Oh, the glory of combat. Stomping ants... I feel so... macho?

I think killing ants with stone axes is a very manly way. Stoming on them with leather boots is for pussies.

Definitely, strangling the little bastards is the best way to go.
