Silk Moths

The Haven and Hearth wiki says:

Once a silkmoth is caught it's lifetime timer will start ticking and you should make sure not to keep them in your inventory for too long.

Does this mean that if you catch a moth and then release it in a confined area the lifetime timer will stop ticking?

I silkmoth will live for 24 ingame hours, quite simply. If it cannot find a member of the other sex by then, it will die regardlessly of where it is.

Ok awesome. My lady moth needs some lovin' and I've only got 24 hours to find her a man.

It's like a movie plotline or something.

Thanks for the info guys!

I caught two slikmoths not to long ago let them mate and such and went threw the life cycle up until my cocoons changed into Silkmoths. However all five of my cocoons turned into female silkmoths. Does anyone know if this is a bug or did I just get very "unluckie"

I did manage to catch another male&female today but I don't want to waste them again if it is bugged.

No, you just had a string of bad luck. Silkmoths work just fine, it's just that each individual moth has the chance of becoming either male or female, regardless of what the other moths have done. What happened with your moths is basically the statistical equivalent of flipping a coin 5 times and getting 5 heads in a row
