I need wool for yarn and such.. how would I go about catching sheep? Do I need animal husbandry and some other odd skill for it?

You need animal husbandry, a rope, good advice and a huge amount of food. This is to feed the sheep on afterwards. It seems like herds of domestic animals vacuum down seeds.

There should be some early posts about taming. You might want to start with the one in the Announcements Forum "Animal Domestication" and then look for the place where people discuss the various attacks necessary to maintain initiative, attack a sheep and subdue it without wounding it and so on.

The first thing you will need to do is pen up all the sheep. Attack one and the rest will mob you. So you will have to enclose them all in fences, and make sure at lease several are divided out individually. This way you can attack the one you want without being bothered by the others -it can seriously interrupt the process if you get ko'd. Also you may actually want to kill some of the other sheep in order to get the initiative. It's a real complicated process....

The only thing yarn is essential for that I know of is making bandages and repairing dream catchers. It is cheaper and easier to make new dream catchers. But those bandages....

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice, sounds like a lot of effort is involved. Good thing I have a partner!

Better have some decent combat skills or armor, BTW. Newb + ram = paste.

Combat skills = Down.
Now with a fence and a single ram = Win.
