Building a log cabin

Good morning everybody. I'm new to this game and I've got a question: Every time I try to build a house (a log cabin) there appears a message, that it cannot be built there ("You cannot build that here"). What am I doing wrong?

Sorry for my language, I'm German.

You're probably trying to build it on forest tiles, which you can't build cabins on. Plow the ground and then pave it with stone and you can build a cabin.

Hello. I amd trying to build log cabin too, but I can't see the door anywhere so it must be in wrong position. How can I turn the cabin so that I could see the door? (I have not yet built the house)

The door will appear on the right side of the wall after you finish it.

There is no option to rotate buildings.
