Taming cows?

Postby Peripheral » Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:13 am

(Warning, I'm pretty new, so I might be making mistakes that seem idiotic, i dunno :P )

Alright, so I managed to use quell the beast on an auroch. After I tamed him, I was unsure if I did it (we were both penned up so I couldn't tell if it would follow me), and attacked again, losing 14 tame points. Afterwards, I managed to lead the cow back to my territory, but it didn't seem to be attacking me. I waited around 20mins or so, and it did nothing. So I then initiated another fight, got all of the required specs (More then two initiative, less than one battle intensity, and full combat advantage), and tried to quell the beast again. When I did this, the only response the game gave me was a quick "Beep". I really don't know what the beep was for, nor do I know how close I am to fully taming it. Should I just start over on another auroch, or is there some way I can manage to continue taming this one?

Ok... Now I'm even more confused. I attack my auroch again, and see three numbers. a yellow 2 (I'm guessing for grievous damage?), a red 12 (normal damage?) and a bright yellow 143 (??? Taming is at 143?) Whenever I attack, the bright yellow lowers a bit, but it is still above 100. The auroch is still a furry beast, and doesn't seem to be domesticated. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated :) .

Thank you =]. I already read that, and it didn't seem to answer my question. But that's np, I walked inside of my cabin and when I came out it just made it so I had to start over again. Then my character's shoes wore away and he died by a thorn. Back to the drawing board :D
