You can either make a kuksa out of birch bark, or you can make a waterskin or a waterflask out of leather.
With any one them you *should* be able to left-click it and right-click the bucket.
If not, you can left-click it, then right-click either a water tile or a barrel of water.

easiest to get: Kuksa, if you can find a birch tree.

edit: you have to left-click the bucket first and then right-click on the kuksa/waterskin/waterflask.

Actually, kaka... You got one backwards :D

In order to fill it, you gotta left click the bucket and right click the kuska/waterflask/waterskin. Correct for the other ones though.

Afterwords to drink from it, just right click and click drink.

Related question:
Is there any way to get water into a mug or teapot?
Or do they only work with tea?

Drinking is seriously counter-intuitive -.-

It is bad form to hijack others threads.

Mug and teapots are for tea only.
