Find a mine

What are good places to prospect for a mine? mountians? caves? and is there a way to know where caves tend to be located?

If I can add on another question relating to this... When you prospect, can you do so from anywhere? IE a boat? Or do you have to be standing on the mudflat/in the cave?

Yep, likely. So your goal will be to claim all the q91 arrows he abandons and cautiously find out if he is willing to share his metal or if he will use your alt diplomat as a one-hit source of neglible lp instead.
