Where am I?

Alright, I went out through the wilderness spawn. The animals here are level I. I have seen other threads where people say that it is better to settle in areas with higher level animals, as there is less of a chance of run-ins with "unfriendly players". If an area has low level animals, does that mean that I am closer to where most of the people are settling? I want to know because I need to figure out if I should head farther out before I settle permanently.

I guess I dont understand the placement of animal levels throughout Haven and Hearth. I have looked through the forums, and the wiki, but can not find anything related to that. If anyone has a link or info on this, I would appreciate it.

yes. animal levels decrease as areas become more civilized. but there are several areas like this, not just one
