Can we get two new forum sections both meant for noobs?
One is just like How Do I, but for questions that have already been asked. It seems like it is often difficult for noobs to find out where their question has been asked before since the search function is a bit unreliable, and most of them have not yet found Jackard's guide. The wikia is a good help, but honestly, it is extremely out of date and misses many important questions. It has neither a guide to terrains, nor a how-do-I section, only one on skills which is too limited for many of the issues that come up. If I could figure out how to add those sections I would. In any case the wikia is not official and also is hard to find.
The noobs who post questions have often looked in the forum for the information they want and often post apologetically they have looked and couldn't find and please don't take offense. So they do know that their question is probably an old one. But all the same an small group of experienced players are getting very frustrated by seeing the same questions over and over again, and when not give short discouraging answers are flat out being unhelpful. If there was a section just for noobs the experienced players would know they didn't need to read those posts unless they wanted to help, and the noobs might not find the forum so unfriendly.
The second new section I would like to see is the same one recently proposed in a different thread, of having a matchmaking forum. This way people could post the kind of contact they are trying to make such as if they want to find four other noobs interested in working towards yeomanry and forming a village, or an experienced village, or a brand new noob who would be able to make low q food supplies. It would be primarily meant for newcomers who are arriving and finding that human contact is scarce since the more experienced players already have their villages or have settled happily on private homesteading.
