Case of the missing herbalist table

Postby 32012323 » Wed Feb 03, 2010 9:31 am

Hey guys,

I've got a bit of a problem and I'm not 100% if it's just another player screwing with me. I've just moved my claim from one spot to another and I've made a new friend who's helping me out with my day to day upgrades.

One thing I've noticed since I've moved to this next plot is that when ever I leave a herbalist table around, it disappears and the treeplanter's pot is left behind every time. It's the weirdest freaking thing since I've spent thousands of LP to increase my claim to border around my farm, but regardless of where on the plot I put this table the same thing keeps happening.

I know there's somebody living farther up from my place, but who would waste their time to do this every odd couple of hours? They're not that hard to make.

Could it be the decay time on these tables have been ramped up? It sounds far fetched but how do you explain these decent potential trees being ignored in favor of a shitty little table?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks ahead!

EDIT: Brain fart, the claim would have given me a clue if somebody broke in... This is really weird.

The same thing happen to a Cupboard of mine and all the things inside it were laying on the ground where it used to stand. Ive found that building these types of things on cobble stone stop it from happening. If you are on Green Grass, then you would just lay stone using a Stone Chip; but if you are on other land you may have to plow it first and then lay stone. Hope this works. :)

Cupboards are for use inside, they have very low HP and will very likely decay before you get back.

Dwarfu, I didnt know they were only meant for indoors because my friends and I all have 3 of them outside our houses to hold things and mine has been the only one to fall. They have been up for about a week now I think. But I will definitely tell them to take their stuff and move it inside in case of them falling apart ;)

way to look out :D

Actually everything that is not in a house will decay eventually, unless you can reepair it. Some things are meant to be inside like a cubbord and all cubbords decay eventually if not placed in a house, notice that you can not reepair a cubbord so it has to stay inside or else it will be lost with a few decay hits. when i started i had a hole bunch of cubbords outside on paved stone they managed to stay there for a few weeks actually but then started to take decay hits and i lost a few before i understood what was going on. Decay hits are totally random it seams. So you can be lucky and it will decay very slowley if it doesnt get any random decay hits in a loong time, but you can also be unlucky and get several decay hits in a row and it decays fast. All things seam to have a certen amount of decay hits they can take before they disapear and that amount seam to change depeding on what item it is and what ground it is placed upon. Some things are more sterdy then other things, and can take many decay hits or are less likley to get hit by decay wich give you plenty of time to reepair it in time and it will be visible when the item is starting to go thru stages of decay the redness stages. some things like drying racks are not sturdy at all and can decay and disapear in just one decay hit if its on normal ground wich means you get no warning, and i guess two hits on paved stone wich gives you atleast one warning before it disapears.

A herbtable can take several decay hits i think, and you easily have time to reepair it if you logg in most days. So really i have a hard time to think that your table decayed. I suggest you get the ranger skill and get skill points in exploration and perception, when you logg in turn tracking on, and search for scents, your skills will be rolled against the perpetrators stealth and intelligance, and you can make it reeroll by going in and out of a house for example until you finally can see the scents. My guess is your table was stolen or moved by someone whos messing with you.

Good luck :)
