the ocean?

well i was out exploring and only walked about 5 minutes and found this huge gap of deep water but my minimap wasent loading so i decided to folow it. i folowed it for 10 minutes withought finnding annything then i find sand??? well im guessing its for glass so i take some but from what i see im thinking the ocean is the ege of the gaming map. would that be correct?

Nope. It's just a lake. The water is perfectly good for drinking.

The original map grid was entirely ringed in land. It has several lakes but none of the water actually touched the rim of the map. I am assuming due to lack of contrary evidence that all the subsequent supergrids were generated similarly, so you won't be able to sail from one to the next.

However many requests for oceans have been made, so when the fabled next map reset happens we might just see one!
