Wheat.

Postby Kiwi » Mon Feb 08, 2010 4:03 am

I've looked for where wheat can be found, but can't well, find it.
What region is it found in? I figured it was in the land such as :

Is this the right area to look for wild wheat?
Sorry if i have not looked hard enough, thanks in advance.

actually if you have a grassland anywhere thats where i found my wheat, and theft from a neighbor. the latter is not a good idea, neighbors tend to destroy your stuff if you steal from them

Since wheat is somewhat scarce, you should try asking someone for some. Most people are usually nice enough to give you one or two seeds.

What you are in is the yellow territory, which is moor. Grassland is really green, that classic "grass green". I'm afraid you have to look a little further.

In all my travels in this scarcely populated section, I haven't found any natural grown wheat. I did find a abandoned plot with wheat though. I replanted what few plants I cut just in case they returned.

It depends on that random spot where you generated, so it is hard to say. Spots in the inner grids tend to have been harvested but tend to have abandoned wheat. Spots in the outer grids have fewer settlements and more wild wheat. My question is, once you begin boat travel (or put in some serious shoe-leather miles) do you find abandoned boats, cut trees and the funny abandoned circles of unbuilt fires that show where some one trapped an animal? If you are finding lots of that then wild wheat is less likely and salvaged second-hand wheat might be the best bet.

In that case keep an eye on your minimap and look for those white spots that show ploughing, and for houses. Either could lead you to a ruin that is the jackpot you are seeking.

I got my boat done and went a little up river and found some on a(seemed to be abandoned) camp. Picked up some other crops too.

Since wild crops do not regenerate it can be somewhat hard to find them, especially in civilized areas.
