Water Q

Postby pandesmos » Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:56 am

Hi All,

Looking to confirm some things about water q, so please let me know if my points are right or wrong. =)

1. All lakes and rivers produce q10 water, so for higher q you have to dig a well
2. Soil Q =/= Water Q, so if you find a spot with q40 soil with a well underneath, the water q of that well could just be 10
3. The materials you use to build your well have NO impact on the q of the water you draw from it
4. There is currently no way to improve the quality of your water without getting lucky and finding a good well or trading with someone who has one

1. no, there are high quality points in lakes and rivers. sometimes the quality point is outside of the area that has water so it won't actually peak in the water.
2. well uses the same q point map as rivers and lakes. so yeah, completely unrelated to soil.
3. correct
4. correct

yes. rivers have only 10 q but im not so shure about lakes.
no. if theres 40q soil the water must be in the range of 35-45.
duno. i would guess no.

wrong. Water Q can occur anywhere there is water. it has no affinity for wells rivers or lakes. Like sabinati said, Soil has no bearing on Water Q. They are completely unrelated.

The river by my cabin has Q13 and Q14 water (it shifts depending on whether I'm drawing north or south of my cabin), so it isn't even constant for one body of water.

resource quality radiates out from q points, decreasing as it gets further away from the q point.
