Catching Eels and Sturgeon

Postby garfunkal » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:09 pm

Having no luck catching these types of fish, i know they are both deep water. So tell me your tips what sort of lures, set-ups, areas have you had success hooking these elusive fish?

i've heard it's low Q with leeches but never done it successfully nor considered it worth the effort to try given the amount of effort needed to gather leeches versus finding cave bulbs

Personally I've never heard of anyone able to get the at a high q level and at a reliable rate so for all purposes you can consider they do not exist and trust me I tried even gold fishing gear.

I've never caught either of those, and I've done a LOT of fishing.

Not encouraging then :( Oh well, at least i should have some small scale honey bun production soon so i won't have to worry about the eels so much, have had no luck finding a cave either ( I presume cave bulbs come from there ) which is suprising considering the amount of exploring i had to do to find my wild crops.

I have caught both of these fish. They are only available when the moon is below half (waxing or waning, i get them mixed up) and in deep water. As for quality, I only have a q10 fishing pole so that's all I get.

Caught both of these in shallow water Aka rivers, I was using a quality 5 fishing pole, and leeches (not sure of the quality but it had to be around 5 as well). As for the time of day I caught em both during the day and night.

One guy told me he snagged some sturgeons with a rock lobster, but I never managed to do the same.
