The search function is killing me..

First off, I can't cook my fish. not by holding it and rightclicking a fire or using the cooking menu. Do I need a certain level of cooking to be able to do it? or am I missing some skill.

Secondly, I've been trying to build a rowboat. But I can't place it to get started. Is it like constucting buildings? that I need paved road or whatever. My little camp is placed next to a river and a march, the ground is not-quite-green with alot of leaf trees around.

you need to stand at a fire (right-clicking it helps) and use the "cook meat" skill, which you start with.

try building it in a more open area - its pretty big.

cursed fires... So meat cooking includes fish? I did try it but I guess I wasn't close enough to the fire with the righclicking and raging at the foodbar...

as for the boat, I'll try to find a more open space.

Make sure you butcher the fish before attempting to cook them. The assumed fish were cooked whole the first time I tried to cook one.
