How to know the animal level?

Postby joseboda » Fri Feb 19, 2010 5:33 pm

I keep reading about level "y" foxes and boars but how do you know what level is an animal nearby?

thanks

Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to get into aggro with them. When you are in aggro a picture of the animal pops up and it has a Roman numeral from I to X appear.

If you have a boat you can always heave a stone at the animal to test and if it seems rather likely to be tougher than you want to tackle, sail away.

The more hearth fires in the area the lower the level of the animals. Villages decrease animal level even further. A heavily populated area will have level I animals. The deep and trackless woods where no man has set food will have level X.

Bears never occur below level IV (4)

Mouflon and Aurochs are always without level. They only come in one combat strength. Rabbits and chickens are the same except they never fight back.

Noobies are supposed to spawn randomly somewhere the animals are either levl IX (9) or X (10).

Roman numeral sequence is I,II,III, IV,V,VI,VII,VIII,IX,X in case that is helpful.

If Aurochs and Mouflons have a unique level, how much LP each kill gives?

A Mouflon and an Auroch can be compared to what level foxes, boars, bears level in LP earned per kill?

Last time I killed one I had (I think) about 200ish% learn rate, and Aurochs gave me about 450lp. About the same when in a party of three, actually.

Level 5ish foxes were about the same too, though I had about 300% last time I killed one. Could be horribly distorted due to bad memory, though.

Everyone has the strength to kill anorexics. Aurochs on the other hand...

I dunno, the closest I've ever come to melee fighting is punching a fox through a signpost fence. Marksman+signpost walls let you kill anything.
